1. How do I cycle power to my security system (power down and power up)? Read completely before beginning. Locate where the system transformer is plugged into an electrical receptacle. Once you know where it is, open the front door to your system's control panel. Locate the stand-by battery. Unplug one of the wires from the battery's terminal posts (preferably the black or negative wire). Unplug the transformer from the receptacle AFTER disconnecting the battery. Wait approximately 45 seconds. Replug the transformer first and reconnect the battery wire only AFTER replugging the transformer.
